Robert Wuebber

Robert George Wuebber, age 93, of Manahawkin died Friday, October 14, 2022, at home in Manahawkin.

I've always said that next to the phrase "Man's man" in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Robert George Wuebber. Pop was Eileen and Karen 's dad. On Friday, he decided to go home to his beloved Sue, after battling Parkinsons for many years. Bob personified the Greatest Generation. He was a man of few words, but you always knew where you stood with him. He was a Korean War Veteran, who never talked about what he saw during the war. He was a craftsman whose creations were detailed and near perfect. Many of us never even realized that we saw his work as a photogravure artist in the magazine industry for decades. He loved fishing, both from the shore, and from his boat. He was an athlete who not only was an avid golfer and bowler but was also a terrific baseball player who's biggest accomplishment was hitting a double off of future Hall of Famer Whitey Ford when they were 16 years old. Very few men ever executed the duties of husband, Dad, and Grandpa as flawlessly and lovingly as Bob did. His dedication and love for his late wife Sue was steadfast and eternal. His adoration for his grandkids was strong and heartfelt. And his love for his daughters was abundant and reciprocated as they cared for him in his final years without reservation. I have been honored to be his son-in-law and friend and will miss his solid handshake.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen and her partner Bill Chernes,  Eileen and her husband Harry, his grandkids Ryan Bohlke and his wife Heather Mary and their daughter Maddy, Kaitlyn Toma and her husband Jordan and their son Reece, and Sarah Ellen and her fiancée Ken Rooney, and nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service, sometime in November. Be at rest, Pop.
I'd like to dedicate this poem by Richelle Goodrich to him:

"An honest man won’t stoop to swindle, thieve, or tell a lie.
Despite his need, despite the greed, an honest man would rather die.
An honest man will seek out better, higher roads to take.
Integrity and loyalty, an honest man will ne’er forsake."

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 19., 2022, 12 noon at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beachview Avenue, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
