George Kalfa

George Kalfa, 83, of Little Egg Harbor Township, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on October 1, 2021.

He was born on March 31, 1938, to Arthur and Pauline Kalfa, in Brooklyn, NY.  He grew up and attended Boys High School and Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY. Always hardworking, George worked for First National City Bank then onto the International Union of Operating Engineers.
On September 2, 1963, he married the love of his life Sabina Matera.  They moved to New Jersey where they raised their family in Edison.
Once George retired in 1999, he and Sabina followed their dreams to, one day, own a house on the water and moved to Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ. They enjoyed hosting family and friends for the next 22 years on their waterfront home.
George’s love of life, kind soul and infectious laugh made him admired by all who met him. George was known for his love of baseball; he inflicted his passion for the Yankees on all who knew him.
Anyone who knew George knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. George was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Pauline Kalfa both in 1982. He is survived by his loving wife, Sabina, of nearly 60 years, his brother Thomas and wife Dottie Kalfa, sons Michael and Mark Kalfa, his daughter Melissa and her husband Jim Schnappauf, along with his treasured grandchildren Michael Kalfa, Georgi and Jacey Schnappauf.

“We love you every day. And now we will miss you every day.”
