Daniel Miller, Sr.

Daniel W. Miller, Sr., age 60, of Manahawkin, suddenly passed away August 22, 2019.  Daniel was born in Croydon, PA, to the late Walter D. and Bessie R. Miller and is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Ann Clark.  A beloved husband, father and family man, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gayle Miller and his two sons, Daniel W. Miller, Jr. and Brian H. Miller, his sister, Karen Wiersig and husband Greg, his brother Bruce Miller and wife Joann, and his brother-in-law, Michael Clark, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

After his father passed in 1970, Daniel moved to Manahawkin with his family in 1971. He worked numerous jobs but found his niche with the Stafford Township Water and Sewer Department as a heavy equipment operator in 1983, working with them for 30 years and retiring in 2013.  He was working for Stafford Township Lagoon Maintenance prior to his untimely death.

Daniel's passion was serving others.  Following in his father's footsteps, he became a fireman and was a lifetime member of the Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company #1, serving as a past President.  He was also a longtime member of the Beach Haven Moose.

His biggest love was his family, but anyone who knew him could tell you about his love of cooking and baking, as well as his passion for camping, fishing and NASCAR.  And he would never forgive us if we did not mention his precious Eagles and Phillies.

Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 3pm to 7pm with a Time of Remembrance at 6:30pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Cremation will be held privately.
