William Shine

William J. Shine, age 81, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Southern Ocean Medical Center of Manahawkin, NJ.

William was born March 31, 1941 in Plainfield, NJ. He lived in South Plainfield, NJ and then Gastonia, NC prior to Manahawkin where he resided for the last 5 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Absolute Fire Protection, South Plainfield, NJ as a Salesman. William was a very active past member of the Optimist Club, South Plainfield, NJ. He enjoyed traveling, loved horse racing, and was a fan of the New York Yankees and New York football Giants.

He is predeceased by his parents, William F. and Mary (nee Wrublevski) Shine, and his wife, Katherine (nee Smith) Shine in 2018.

William is survived by his daughter, Darlene M. Calixto and her husband Pepe, his son, Michael Shine and his wife Tammy, his sister, Cookie Robinson and her husband Ed, his brother, Patrick Shine and his wife Patricia, his two grandchildren, Bryan Calixto & Cora Shine, as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm with a blessing service 6:45pm, at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Cremation will be private.
