Wayne Morris

Wayne L. Morris, age 75 of Chatsworth, NJ passed away at home on Friday, November 30, 2018, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, he lived in Edison and in Beach Haven West before moving to Chatsworth in 2004.  Wayne was a remarkable man, a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a devoted pop-pop. Wayne was always willing to help his family and his friends and lived his life by example, knowing that actions, not words, defined his character.  He was loved and respected by those he called his friends.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Lyman and Thelma Dolson Morris and his sister, Alice Babrisky.  He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Linda Joy Natelli Morris, his son Chris, his daughter-in-law Dianne, his granddaughter Reagan, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He also leaves behind his rescued dog, Suzie, who brought him a great deal of joy as well as companionship.

Wayne was the Director of Facilities in Stafford Township School District for many years before retiring in 2014.  After retiring, Wayne spent time as the Deputy OEM coordinator, served on the Woodland Township Land Use Committee and the Cranberry Festival Committee.  When living in Manahawkin, Wayne served on the Zoning Board and the Planet Playground Committee, he was also a long time member of the Stafford Township Republican Club.   Wayne loved motorcycles, a passion that was shared by both his wife, Linda, and his son, Chris.    He looked forward to his annual Memorial Day pilgrimage to Washington DC where he rode with Rolling Thunder. Wayne was a proud veteran and donated hours planning and attending events for their benefit.  He loved his country and served proudly in the U.S. Army as a MP stationed in Turkey and lastly Arlington, Virginia.

Wayne Morris was a principled and kind man and the lives he touched will feel his loss for a very long time.

Wayne’s celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
