Stephen Ferringo Sr.

Stephen Ferringo Sr., 82, of Manahawkin, died on February 18 after a brief illness.

Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Long Beach Island in 1963. He was the owner/operator of Tony's Pizza in Long Beach Township until 1984. He later became a manager at Joeys' Pizza and Pasta in Manahawkin.

Steve was a passionate New York Giants football fan and a New York Rangers hockey fan. He enjoyed Miller Nips and splitting aces. He was also convinced that he could fix anything with duct tape.

Steve was known for his wit, sense of humor, and unconditional love of family.  He was married for 61 years to his true love/arch nemesis, Helen Ferringo. Together, they raised four beautiful children, Steve, Tonee, Joe, and Lori.

He is predeceased by his parents Tony and Rose Ferringo, his brothers, Joseph and John Ferringo, and sister, Annette Scarpaci.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen, his sons, Steve Ferringo (Mary Ellen), Tonee Ferringo (Ron Canal), Joe Ferringo (Patty), and daughter, Lori Rulli (Joe), and eight grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Bobby, Nikki, Joey, Gabrielle, Erika, Anthony, Samantha, and Mikey. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 23, 11am at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ 08050
