Salvatore Frank Giordano, age 81, of New Freedom, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Sal was the son of the late Frank and Marie Giordano.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on February 14, 1944, he resided in New Freedom PA for the last 40 years, spending summers in Manahawkin, NJ and winters in Melbourne Beach, FL. Prior to his retirement, Sal had a successful career as a telecommunications engineer for Lucent Technologies. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam war.
Sal was a dedicated member of the Manahawkin Elks. His favorite events to volunteer were the Run for the Fallen and taking fellow veterans fishing. He enjoyed tending to his garden, playing bocce, watching football, and was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Above all else, his greatest joy was spending time with his family who were everything to him. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Sal built a wonderful life with his wife of 61 years Jeanette (Savarese) Giordano. His legacy lives on in his three children: Gina Haws and her husband Michael, Michelle Ciaurro and her husband Martin, and Frank Giordano and his wife Nicole, his seven grandchildren: Brandon, Danielle and her husband Roger, Alex and her fiancée Dorian, Tyler, Sierra and her fiancée Samuel, Madeline and Nicholas, and his two great grandchildren: Aly and Andrew.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1pm to 5pm and Monday October 6 from 10am to 10:30am at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Monday, October 6 at St. Mary's Church, 747 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 283 Beachview Ave., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
