Robert “Bob” Green 1941 – 2025
Robert A. Green, 84, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed on October 28, 2025.
Robert “Bob” Green was born in Riverside, New Jersey, in 1941 to Thomas and Kathryn Green, and grew up in Burlington Township. He attended St. Paul’s School and graduated from Burlington City High School in 1959. In 1963, Bob married his sweetheart, Dolores and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.
After serving two years in the U.S. Army, Bob worked for most of his career with Airco Industrial Gases and later at Jade Run Sod Farm. A dedicated worker and loyal teammate, he played for and managed the Airco softball team and also found joy in coaching his daughter Wendy’s sports teams.
An athlete in his youth, Bob played CYO basketball and ran track, but his love for activity extended far beyond sports. He found peace and happiness on the water—boating, fishing, and crabbing—and expressed his creativity through bird carving and tinkering in the garage. Bob was always ready to lend a hand, often fixing whatever was broken for friends and family.
Bob was a man of deep faith, devoted to the Rosary and to the Blessed Mother, Mary. His faith guided his life and gave him strength, compassion, and serenity that touched everyone who knew him.
Bob was a kind and gentle soul, known for his easy smile, generous heart, and ever-ready Irish jokes. He enjoyed a good game of pool or cards, countless rounds of Scrabble, and the quiet satisfaction of completing a puzzle. Above all, he cherished time spent with the people he loved.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his warmth, humor, and kindness will live on in the stories shared and the memories treasured by those he touched.
He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Tom and Jack and survived by his wife Dolores, his daughter Wendy and partner Tom, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bucky and Cookie, and sister-in-law Christine, godchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 am until his Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, at St. Mary Of The Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
Donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
