Raymond T. Wochna, 86 of Manahawkin, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Jersey City prior to Manahawkin where he resided since 1998. He served as Police Lieutenant for the Jersey City Police Department prior to his retirement. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His service included being stationed on the USS Cassin Young, now docked next to the USS Constitution.
Raymond is predeceased by his parents Leo and Frances Wochna as well as his brothers; Leo, James and John and his sister Louise Lucas.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Wochna (nee Gerrity), his two sons; Raymond Wochna and his wife Maria and Joseph Wochna, his daughter Theresa D’Andrea, his four grandchildren; Stephen, Lindsay, Erika and Caitlin and his great grandson Michael.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm and Friday, July 8, 8am to 10am at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow morning visiting, 10:30am at St. Mary of the Pines Church, Manahawkin. Interment will take place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
