Raymond Sheppard

Raymond E. Sheppard, 78, of Barnegat, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, Raymond lived in the Ocean Acres section of Manahawkin just prior to residing in Barnegat for the last 14 years.   For most of his career he was a Warehouse Production Manager, his last position being with Hershey Foods, New Brunswick.  After retirement, he owned and operated On The Spot Limo based out of Forked River, NJ. He loved fishing, was an avid New York football Giants fan and loved family gatherings.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Mary Venezia Sheppard, his brother Edward Sheppard, and his sister Susanne Gondevas.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Patricia J. Sheppard (nee Wares), his daughters; Patricia Van Clief and her husband William Van Clief Sr., and Susan Torres, his brother Thomas Sheppard, his sister Rosemarie D’Amico, his five grandchildren; William, Adam, Kristen, Ike and Christopher, his great grandson Seth, as well as his loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2017, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Millcreek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 30, 2017, 11:00am at Saint Mary of the Pines RC Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beachview Ave., Manahawkin.
