Philip Alan Byrd

Philip Alan Byrd, age 60, of West Creek, NJ passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at home.

Philip was born May 28, 1963 in Queens, NY. He is the son of the late Colonel Robert James and Mary (Ghazar) Byrd.  Philip was a graduate of Stockton State College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He served in the United States Army from 1990 to 1994 where he worked as a licensed laboratory technician and phlebotomist. He also worked as a substitute teacher and as a social worker for the State of Missouri. Philip loved reading books about philosophy and psychology. He had an extensive book and movie collection. He was also an avid pool player. He was well known as a gentle, kind and quiet spirit who, by placing himself last, would sacrifice himself for the good of others. He was lovingly known as “Phil-bee” by his family. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Philip is survived by his mother, Mary (Ghazar) Byrd; his brother, David Byrd, his sister, Donna Byrd-Santulli, and his girlfriend of many years, Kate.
