Paul Borsetti

Paul Borsetti, age 90, of West Creek, NJ, passed away on May 29, 2026. He was born on March 2, 1936, in The Bronx, NY, to Nicholas and Stella Borsetti, the eldest of five siblings. Paul served six years in the Army National Guard of New York and was honorably discharged in 1960. He then devoted his entire civilian career to his craft as a butcher, spending more than 40 years with Pathmark Supermarkets before retiring in 2006. He was a proud and loyal member of UFCW Local 464A Meat Cutters Union.

On the evening of February 10, 1962 — at precisely 6:50 pm — Paul walked into the Silver Swan dance hall in East Hanover, NJ, and met the love of his life, Domenica (Minnie) Mastroianni. They were married eight months later, on October 21, 1962. The couple began their life together in Belleville, NJ, soon purchasing their first home in Old Bridge. In 1968, they settled in Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, where they raised their three children and remained for 37 years.

A man of wide-ranging intellectual curiosity, Paul had a lifelong passion for science — particularly astronomy, as well as animals and the physical sciences. He shared that passion generously, once organizing a nighttime sky observation for his son's middle school class. Paul enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and landscaping.

After retirement, Paul and Minnie relocated to Barnegat, NJ, where they built an active and joyful life among many friends. Paul loved playing cards, especially pinochle and also enjoyed bocce ball. Together he and Minnie traveled to more than 60 countries across six continents throughout their marriage, with a particular fondness for cruising.

Following Minnie's passing in 2017, Paul found unexpected blessing in Joann Cichowski, whom he met through a widowers' group at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. They exchanged vows in the Church in 2020, each having known the gift of a long and loving first marriage. Joann cared for Paul with devotion until the very end — and Paul, true to form, was still winking at her in his final days. His children embraced Joann wholeheartedly as a cherished member of the family.

Paul was predeceased by his late wife, Minnie, his parents, and three of his siblings: Catherine, Roberta, and Nicholas. He is survived by his loving wife Joann; his sister Christine of Corona, CA; and his three children and their spouses: Paul and Cynthia Borsetti of Glenelg, MD; Rosann and Dr. Jeffrey Kaladas of Tewksbury Township, NJ; and Diane and Philip Cooley of Alpharetta, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kristine (and Cyrus Eslami), Victoria, Justin, Grace (and Noah Lee), Emily, Jenna, and Benjamin; his sister-in-law Theresa Borsetti; his brother-in-law and wife Salvatore and Mary Migliore; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
