Patricia Anne Roy (Mattoon), age 74 of Mayetta passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born on June 20, 1950 in Montclair, NJ to the late Gordon D and Dorothy L Mattoon, Patricia resided in Marlboro, NJ before moving to Beach Haven Gardens, NJ in the mid 1950’s. Patti was a 1968 graduate of Southern Regional High School and Asbury Park Beauty School. Patrcia worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several local businesses over the course of her career. She later worked as a deli clerk at Super Fresh of Manahawkin. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Manahawkin and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company. Patti was also a dedicated volunteer member of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, leading her crew of volunteers in providing food, drink, and supplies to firefighters, including her husband Jim and daughter Amanda, for over 40 years. Patti and her husband most enjoyed spending time at their camp in Lee, Maine, which was their happy place.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 55 years, John J Roy, Jr, daughters Laura Dillinger and son-in-law William of Little Egg Harbor and Amanda Lange and son-in-law William of Mayetta, grandson Garrett Lange of Mayetta, and granddaughters Amy and Katie Dillinger of Little Egg Harbor, as well as her caregiver, Sherron Yockachonis. In addition to her parents, Patricia is predeceased by all of her siblings; brothers Gordon, Roland, and Robert Mattoon and her sisters, Lynn Finkelday and Merle Waldo.
