Margaret Smith

Margaret T. Smith (nee Kelly), 70, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2018.

Margaret was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 7, 1947 and raised in Clifton Heights, PA. She moved to New Jersey in 1977 when she married William. She worked as an Inspector for Kemper Insurance for many years before leaving to raise her family.  Marge always put her family first and worked hard in making sure everyone was taken care of.

She is preceded in death by her parents John J. Kelly and Ida Gould, her husband of 40 years; William C. Smith, her daughter Janine, her sister Mary Jane Ostrom and her 2 grandsons Joshua and Noah.

Margaret is survived by her children; Lewis Smith and his wife Lynn Marie, Marjorie Blayer and her husband Andrew, and William John Smith, her brothers; John Kelly, Robert Kelly, Alex Fleming and Andy Fleming, her sisters; Janet Wagner, Terri Fleming and Joan Taylor. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren; David, Lindsey, Andrew, Chandler, Xavier, Zachary, Liam, Allie, Sophia, Connor and Katelynn and one great-grandchild Carter. And MANY nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 6pm to 8pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 25, 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
