Lawrence "Butch" T. Smith

Lawrence T. “Butch” Smith, age 81, passed away at home in Waretown, NJ on March 31^st, 2024.

He was born on March 14, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA. Butch was a long-time resident of Beach Haven, NJ and a graduate of Southern Regional High School. He was known in the community, first as an employee, then owner, of Garden Texaco, until he retired in 2006. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, followed by the reserves. He enjoyed golf, cooking, and as a life-long tinkerer, he loved taking things apart and sometimes putting them back together.

Butch is predeceased by his parents Dorothy (Sturgeon) and John Smith and his brothers Lowell Smith and Jerry Smith. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Marilynn Edwards, his children, Lisa and Jason, and his grandson Devon.
