Kerry Diblasio, Sr.

Manahawkin, NJ - Kerry Nicholas DiBlasio, Sr., 75, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he settled in Oreland, PA to raise his family, before retiring in Manahawkin, NJ.

Son of Nicholas and Dorothy (Cupo) DiBlasio, Kerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gail (Boyd) DiBlasio, proud father of sons Nicholas (Lucy) and Kerry (Laura), and daughter Donna Lima (Brian), grandchildren Luke DiBlasio, James DiBlasio, Riley Lima, Emily Lima, and Dylan Lima.

Kerry grew up in Philadelphia attending Cardinal Dougherty High School, Temple University and Philco Technical school. He enjoyed a long career working for Honeywell for 28 years, and in his spare time coached softball at Bishop McDevitt High School. Once retired in Manahawkin, he volunteered for the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. His favorite pastimes were sharing daily adventures with his beautiful wife, playing the guitar and singing, cruising the bay waters at the helm in his boat, crabbing, fishing, introducing his children then 5 grandchildren to the wonders of living on the water down the shore. Special Sunday night dinners were a constant where he revealed the family’s culinary secrets to carry on the DiBlasio homemade meatball and gravy tradition.

And as his favorite Sunday afternoon tradition was to ride in his boat waving goodbye to all of the weekend shore visitors, excited knowing he didn’t have to leave, we bid a fond and loving farewell wave to Kerry wishing a peaceful easy feeling.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27, 2019 from 1pm to 4pm at The Sea Shell Resort and Beach Club, 10 S. Atlantic Ave, Beach Haven, NJ 08008. Interment will be private.
