Katherine Dolores Bell

Katherine D. Bell, age 92, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at home with her family by her side.

Katherine was a lifelong resident of NJ. Born May 29, 1933, to Ruth (Betz) Flohs and William Flohs in Newark. She lived in Hillside, Brick, and Vineland before moving to Manahawkin where she resided for the last 5 years. Prior to her retirement, Katherine was employed by the Vineland Public Library for 26 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, music, and traveling. Her greatest joy was her family. Katherine will be dearly missed. Her kindness, gentle nature and compassion were gifts to everyone who knew her. Katherine’s legacy of love and dedication will forever be cherished.

Katherine is predeceased by her parents, her three sisters: Jean Lane, Ruth Cook, Marion Gocklin, and her granddaughter: Sandra Bell.

Katherine is survived by her husband and soulmate of 74 years, John W. Bell; five children: Kathleen Wheeler, John Bell and wife Dorinha, Deborah Bell, Virginia Pierce and husband Richard, and Wendy Bell-Cervini and husband Samuel; 12 grandchildren: Tara, Joseph, Caren, Rick, Will, Wade, Stephanie, Ashley, Nicholas, Reece, Kylie, and Joshua; 16 great-grandchildren: Rob, Austin, Stasia, Nathaniel, Samuel, Leanne, Charlie, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Alessandra, Connor, Tristan, Renee, Adrianna, Emma, and Ava; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 3:00 PM until Katherine’s memorial service at 4:30 PM at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
