Karen Townsend

Karen M. Townsend (nee Wentz) of West Creek, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she lived in Surf City, NJ prior to West Creek where she resided for the last 15 years. Karen owned and operated a cleaning service. She was a gifted artist. She attended the Philadelphia Institute of Art and the LBI Art Foundation. Karen was a kind, loving, self-less woman, a devoted grandmother, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by her many loved ones and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to the One Meadow care staff at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Division, Galloway, NJ.

She is predeceased by her aunts; Katherine, Mimi and Marie Wentz.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Edmund Townsend, her two sons; Randy Townsend and Richard Dendall, her daughter Joy Townsend, her son-in-law Blake Beskin, her daughter-in-law Julia Townsend and her grandchild Jewel Beskin.

A memorial gathering will take place Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm with words of remembrance at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
