Joseph M. Dolan Sr., 79 of Manahawkin, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, Joe lived in Philadelphia prior to Manahawkin where he resided since 1970. He was an Equipment Operator for the Ocean County Road Dept. as well as owner/operator of Dolan Locksmith, Manahawkin. Joe also was retired from the Philadelphia Fire Dept., and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an aviation electronics equipment operator. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters, Philadelphia local 22, Loyal Order of the Moose, Beach Haven, #1575, a life member of the Elks, Manahawkin, #2340, VFW, Beach Haven Post and the Tuckerton Masonic Lodge #4.
Joe is predeceased by his parents John J. and Ann Clare Dolan and his two brothers; John J. Dolan Jr., and James Barry Dolan.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores B. Dolan (nee McGettigan), his son; Joseph M. Dolan Jr. and wife Kathy Price, his three daughters; Cynthia Rojtas and husband Steve, Colleen Dolan and husband Bill Hillermeier and Christina Zeitler and husband Brian, his two sisters; Ann Nancy Griffin and Claire Hoban, his five grandchildren; Bryan Rojtas, Nicole Marsula, Angela Dolan, Daniel Rojtas, and Kaitlyn Grayson and his great grandchildren; Drew and Neil Marsula and baby Rojtas on the way.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2pm to 9pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, March 29, 11:30am, at St. Mary of the Pines Church, Manahawkin. Please go directly to church. Cremation will be held privately.
