Joan Wieczorek

Joan H. Wieczorek, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 19, 2017.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Barnegat Light, NJ, Florida, and West Creek, NJ.

Joan was born to Joel and Cassie Montgomery in 1931 and grew up in Barnegat Light with her brother Joel (predeceased), and her sisters; Jackie (predeceased), Marion, and Cassie.

Joan attended the One Room Schoolhouse and later was very active in the community and is a lifelong member of “The Barnegat Light Ladies Auxiliary”.

Joan married Leonard Wieczorek in 1949 and, this past August, celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary.

In 1959, Joan and Leonard founded “L. Wieczorek-Plumbing & Heating”. In 1972 with partner Eddy Eliason (predeceased) it was renamed “Barnegat Light Plumbing” and in 1985 was turned over to Leonard and Joan’s son Sam, who is still in charge today.

Joan leaves behind her loving husband Leonard, her son and daughter, Sam Wieczorek and Cindee Osenenko, her four Grandsons; Sam Jr., Matt, Jim, and Austin, and her three great grandchildren; Sammy III, Brooke, and Aiden.

A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, February 24, 2017, 11am to 1pm with a memorial service, 12:30pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.

Mom’s Story, Beating the Unbeatable
Joan was Diagnosed with Terminal Colon Cancer when she was just 38 years old. Our Dad immediately took her to the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
With Such a Passion and Zest for life, and incredible Love and Support of her Family, Mom painfully endured many Major Surgery’s to beat this horrible disease and Remained Cancer Free for the Remaining 47 years of her life.
As a Tribute to Our Mom, All Donations will be Sent to the “American Cancer Society” where we Hope that Sharing Mom’s Incredible Story will help others find the Same Strength to beat their Cancer as well.
