Jim Lang, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on August 23, 1946, in the Cramer Hill section of Camden, New Jersey. He spent many summers in Cedar Run, NJ, where his family owned a summer home that later became his permanent residence. It was there that he and his wife, Karen, made their home and raised their family. Jim attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden and later took classes at Temple University. He was the founder and partner of Macro Sensors in Pennsauken, NJ, where he served as chief operator and manufacturing engineer until his retirement.
Jim’s greatest love in life was his family. He was deeply devoted to them and immensely proud of his children, Victoria and Connor, and all they accomplished. He loved living on the water and all that came with it—fishing and crabbing, building boats, and boating on Barnegat Bay—and always looked forward to the annual Lang Crab Fest. Incredibly handy, Jim could fix or build just about anything, including his childhood summer home, which he renovated extensively as their family grew. Rarely sitting still, he was often found tinkering around the house and yard or building model boats. He was also a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Ethel Lang, and his brother, Stephen G. Lang. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Karen (née Huster); his children, Victoria Blake (Dave) and Connor Lang; his sister-in-law, Patricia Lang; brothers-in-law LeRoy (Tracey), Joseph (Bonnie), Edward (Alisa), and Robert; his nieces and nephews—Nadina, Amber, Tara, Michael, Rachel, Ryan, Christopher, Matthew, Wade, and Eddie; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and special family friend, Marykate Campbell.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 11:30am until his memorial service, 1:30pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
