James Robert Hutcheson

James Robert Hutcheson, age 81, of Surf City, Long Beach Island, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Jim was born February 18, 1944, in San Antonio, TX. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. Some of his accomplishments included sharpshooter designation and he earned the National Defense Service Metal. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by F.B.I., Philadelphia, PA as a Special Agent. Jim loved woodworking, fishing, boating around Long Beach Island and the Barnegat Inlet, scrapping, bird watching, gardening, and especially, spending time with his grandchildren. He always had a joke or a pun ready to share. He will surely be missed by all.

He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Rappleyea Betty Jo (LeFavour) Hutcheson.

Jim is survived by his wife, Lynn (Inkpen) Hutcheson, his two daughters, Meredith Ray and Juliet Haberbusch & her husband Tom, his son, Hector Hutcheson, his two sisters, Cathy Heller & her husband Jim and Janice McCann, his grandchildren; Madison Ray, Emily & Owen Haberbusch, and Carter, Sophia & Evan Hutcheson, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5800 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, NJ 08008
