Gordon Bruce Wetmore

Gordon Bruce Wetmore, age 75, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Born September 12, 1949, in Plainfield, NJ, he lived in Mendham, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided for over 40 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Surf City Borough as well as other various municipalities on Long Beach Island as a Building Inspector. Prior to becoming a building inspector, Gordon was a builder and the owner/operator of Gordon Wetmore, Builder. He was an avid softball player who played in local softball leagues. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Edwin D. and Elizabeth Sheridan Wetmore. 

Gordon is survived by his wife Suzanne E. (nee Brinck) Wetmore, his son Andrew Wetmore and his wife Tracey, his grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha and Julia Wetmore, his stepdaughter Christine Hannemann and her fiancé Josh, his stepson Michael Hannemann and his wife Jessica and his stepdaughter Tonya Hannemann, his two brothers, David and Dean Wetmore, his nieces and nephews, and his best four legged friends, Nicky and Allie.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1pm until his funeral service, 4:30pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Cremation will be private.
