In Loving Memory of Gabriel “Gabe” Mathew Saldana August 8, 2008 – September 30, 2025

With hearts filled with love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Gabriel Mathew Saldana, affectionately known as Gabe, who passed away at the young age of 17 on September 30, 2025. From the moment he entered this world on August 8, 2008, Gabe radiated light, kindness, and warmth. He was inspiring, bright, and endlessly driven to do good in the world. His heart was as big as his dreams, and his compassion knew no limits — he would give his skin if he had nothing else left to give. Gabe was deeply loved by his family and by a chosen family of friends who became an inseparable part of his world. His humor could fill a room with laughter, his energy could lift any spirit, and his presence made life more beautiful for everyone who knew him. Music was one of Gabe’s greatest joys — he listened to every kind, finding connection and meaning in every beat and lyric. Whether he was laughing with his friends, sharing his big dreams, or just being his witty, loving self, Gabe reminded everyone that life is richer when it’s filled with love and laughter. Though his time here was far too short, Gabe’s spirit, kindness, and love will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire those he touched to be kinder, laugh louder, and love harder — just as he did every day.

He is predeceased by his mother, Lauren Elena Saldana, grandfather, Demetrio Saldana, and his great grandparents, Arlene & Lawrence Fredella.

Gabe is survived by his sister, Madison Saldana, his brother Giovanni, his father Mathew Saldana, his grandparents Dean & Laura Gulden, his grandmother Gina Wexler, his aunt and uncle Kayla and Sam Dudley, his best friend Nathan Curry, and his many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 1 PM to 5 PM at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 AM on Monday, October 13 at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Interment will be private.
