Emily Davidson, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Manahawkin, New Jersey, on August 7th, 2023, surrounded by family.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Emily later settled in Wayne with her husband of 58 years, Frank Davidson.
Emily's involvement in her church and commitment to her faith were significant aspects of her life.
Emily's legacy lives on through her husband, Frank, and their children: Donald Davidson of Naples, Florida;
Pamela and Nicholas Potenza of Princeton Junction, NJ along with their children Nicole, Joseph, and Emily; Bonnie and Rick Mainardi of Oakland, NJ, along with their children Alex, Michael, and Lauren; and Keith and Denise Davidson of Bridgewater, NJ, along with their daughter Kayla. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses; Alex Bsales, Josephine Kaspar, George Bsales, Rose and John Buraty and Raymond Bsales and predeceased by Michael and Gloria Bsales, Adrian Bsales, Michael Kaspar, Jeanette Bsales and Lucille Bsales.
Emily adored spending time with her seven grandchildren. She enjoyed family beach trips and the competitive games of Rummikub they played together. Emily also took pride in passing on her Syrian cultural traditions to her grandchildren, including teaching them the nursery rhyme “Brreakit Fuda” (The Silver Fountain) and the art of preparing favorite foods like “Syrian Cheese” and “Yeblah."
Her evenings were frequently filled with a good crime novel or immersed in episodes of "NCIS" and Westerns.
She found great pleasure in gardening, cooking, and hosting gatherings of friends & family, and being "Aunt Em" to her 27 nieces & nephews.
A private family service was held to honor Emily's life.
Anyone who knew Emily, knew she had a special place in her heart for children. To honor her memory, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or the Stafford Township Police Department, 260 E Bay Avenue, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 in recognition of their recent assistance and support.
