Calvin Albert Soden, Jr.

Calvin A. Soden Jr., age 78, born in Trenton NJ and lived in Manahawkin most of his life, passed away on April 20, 2026, peacefully at Concord Rehabilitation Center under veteran's care.

Calvin served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam war from 1968 to 1970. He worked as an Operating Engineer for Local #825 for 46 years and retired in 2010. In his leisure time he would like to listen to all the popular bands from the 60s, 70s and 80s (loudly), went to flea markets, and target shooting. His two favorite things to do was going to look at cars and smoke good cigars.

He is pre-deceased by his parents Calvin Albert Soden Sr. and Bridget Soden, and his sister Reba Wainwright.

Calvin is survived by his wife Linda of 59 years, his two sons, Calvin A Soden III and his wife Inessa Soden, and Christopher Soden and his fiancée Ashley Nelson and 3 stepchildren; Kaydence, Kassidy and Logan, his sister Shelly Rendon and her adult children; Rachelle Barco-Calderon and Danielle Buckley. On his wife Linda’s side, his sister-in-law Gloria Clemente and her husband James Clemente, and his brother-in-law Anthony Buffano and his wife Carla Buffano, as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Calvin never turned down an enjoyable time and lived as best he could. We will miss you!! Thank you, Dad for all your sacrifices!

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 1pm until his funeral service, 4pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Cremation will be private.
