Barbara Ann Soper

The family of Barbara Ann Soper are sad to announce her passing but comforted to know she is reunited in heaven with her husband Dan, her son Danny, her parents, and sister Jo Ann.

Bobby was born Aug, 1935, to Evelyn and Frank Martin in Beach Haven Crest, NJ where she grew up, graduated Beach Haven school in 1949 and Tuckerton high in 1953.

Bobby leaves behind her children Fred and Peg, Barb and John, Rhonda and Rick and Tim and Carla. Her grandchildren Fred and Andrea, Lisa and Harold, Jodi and Drew, Dan, Jake and Bri, Josh and Alexis and Jeremy, her great granddaughters Reagan, Riley, Macy, Molly and Marissa along with her brother Walt and sisters Lynda and Shelley and many nieces and nephews.

Family was her everything! Up to the end she loved reminiscing about spending time on the family farm with her dad's side of the family in North Carolina, her time growing up on the beach being the big sister and remembering the family cook outs on Jennings Rd.

Bobby served her community in many ways over the years. She was a life member of the Stafford fire company ladies auxiliary where she was a past president and worked many nights of bingo and turkey dinners. Den leader for cub scouts, Girl scout leader, Stafford PTA, working the concession stand at Stafford Little league games and Stafford soccer games along with the food bank at the Manahawkin Methodist church where she was a member. Bobby and Dan also were honored to serve as Grand Marshalls of the Stafford Founders Day parade in 1999, it was a proud day for two very humble people who shared a love for Manahawkin and their deep roots here.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 9am until her funeral service, 11am at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Run, NJ.

A donation may be made in Bobby's memory to the Stafford Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary or the Manahawkin United Methodist Church.
