Arline J. Grande

Arline J. Grande of Whiting, NJ passed away on Friday September 12th, 2025. 

Arline was born in the Bronx NY on February 29, a leap year baby. She loved spending her yearly vacations at Seaside Heights until she eventually relocated to Lakehurst NJ where she could frequent the ocean more regularly. Arline loved cooking, reading, going to church, Sunday family dinners, and her beloved dog Mikey. She was a wonderful homemaker and took pride in her Italian heritage handing down many traditions, values and recipes. Arline served on the altar guild & food pantry at Saint Stephens Church and as president of the PTO of PS80 Bronx NY.

Arline was predeceased by her parents, Ralph & Marie Costa (nee Savignano), her husband James Grande Jr, son James A. Grande, grandson Vincent A. Grande, her sister Lois M Dingus and her brother Roger Costa.

She is survived by her sons, Ralph J Grande and wife Joan of Barnegat NJ, Michael Grande of Whiting NJ and her daughter Suzanne MacFarlane and husband Craig of Lakehurst NJ. She was a beloved Grannie to her surviving 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Diaz of Manahawkin NJ, Craig MacFarlane Jr and wife Alessandra of White House Station NJ, James MacFarlane of Lakehurst, NJ and Heather O’Donnell and husband Joseph of Beachwood NJ. Arline is also survived by six great grandchildren: CJ, Chase, Thomas, Martina, Viviana, and Rory. She leaves behind many loved & adored nieces, nephews & cousins.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held at Ocean County Memorial Park, 280 Wells Mills Road, Waretown, NJ 08758 on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at 10:30 am.

Those in attendance are asked to wear something in Arline’s favorite colors, Teal, Aqua, Seafoam, shade of greens and blues to celebrate her life.
