Angelo W. Lovallo Sr.

Angelo William Lovallo, Sr, born on August 29, 1940, went home to the Lord peacefully at home with his loving son, Angelo, by his side on June 13, 2025.

Angelo was a tool and Die Maker by trade, working for Patal Tool & Die and Heyco Tool & Die. His career began after graduating from Central High School, Newark, NJ. His Uncle, Joseph Lambroschino was instrumental in guiding him toward and through this journey. Angelo progressed through his tradecraft and became well respected for his abilities of precision, accuracy, and on time production. He was promoted to Project/Floor Supervisor. Angelo trained onboarding tool & diemakers. He received a Certificate in CNC Machining, which utilized computer programmed Die cutting, later in his career. Angelo also became a licensed Real Estate agent, part time, for Weichert Realtors in Westfield through the encouragement of his Army reserves buddy, Mel Lissner.

Angelo was born and raised in Newark NJ. During that time, he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Diane J. Weiler. They moved to Irvington, then to Cranford where they raised their family before retiring to Little Egg Harbor NJ, spending the winter months in Naples, Florida. After his wife, Diane passed, he moved to Manahawkin, NJ.

Angelo made many friendships throughout his life. Many of these were related to his hobbies of bowling and being an active member of his church. Later in life, he made friends playing golf, cards and through his wife Diane, who was a very sociable and active person. She always encouraged him to enjoy those friendships. He enjoyed lifelong friendships established through his time as an Army Reservist at Fort Dix, now known as Joint base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 14615, associated with St. John The Apostle Church located in Linden, NJ. At one time, Angelo was an elected Grand Knight of the Council. He very much enjoyed the camaraderie and the friendships he had with his fellow members.

Angelo was predeceased by his mother, Angela Lovallo; his father William Lovallo; his sister, Carmella Manrodt; his brother, William Lovallo and his sister, Joan Storch. His wife, Diane Lovallo, nee Weiler passed away before him, May 31, 2021. He always referred to her as “My Sweetheart” and mourned her each and every day since her passing.

Angelo is survived by his loving and devoted family, daughter Lisa and Antoine (Tony) Chaia and son Angelo W. and Rosemarie Lovallo, Jr., his brother Basil Lovallo, his sisters-in-law Joanne Weiler, Elizabeth and her husband Alan Cook, Judy Muldoon and her life partner Phil Munkacsy, his grandchildren Michael, his wife Katie and 1st great grandson Anthony, Angelo, Victoria (Tori) and Angelo Joseph (AJ), and cousin through Diane, Barbara Geiger and her husband John Geiger and family.

Angelo is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins within the Lovallo, Storch, Lambroschino, Weiler, and Herpich families.

Angelo was a loving husband, father and grandfather who spent time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s many activities such as watching his granddaughter Tori perform on stage and his grandsons Michael, Angelo and AJ play baseball, football and in musical venues. Angelo especially enjoyed introducing the game of golf to Michael, Angelo, and AJ. They would play golf or practice driving together.

Angelo was a disciplined and hardworking person. Always anticipating what needed to be accomplished set goals for himself and his family. He instilled his work ethic and his motto of being self-reliant into the daily lives of his children and grandchildren. He never let a teaching moment go by whether it was learning how to sketch, changing the oil on the car, or the art of becoming “street smart”. He always encouraged them to do their best.
