Loving Husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend
Born in Newark, raised in Irvington, NJ, and then Union, NJ, Fred graduated Union High School in 1959. After, he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a printer for the Star-Ledger in Newark. During this time, he also worked for, eventually took over, and owned Pabst Pool Service, later renaming it Clearwater Pools. He retired in 2006. As a young man, he spent summers in Maine where he developed his love of fishing and hunting. He was an active member of the Hoboken Hunting Club. He resided in Watchung, NJ, for 44 years, and moved to Barnegat, NJ, in 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou (nee Pabst,) his sons John and his wife, Pamela, of Manasquan, NJ, Eric and his wife, Jennifer, of Chatham, NJ, and four grandchildren; Connor, Daniel, Gloria, and Jane.
Visiting hours will be Monday, December 30, 2019, 3:30pm to 6:30pm with a Time of Remembrance, 6:15pm, at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.
